The NUTS Committee are a group elected by general members who look after the running of the society each year. Each person has their particular area to look after and they report back to the group at regular intervals. They are here to help the society and to help you with your interactions with the society and theatre on campus. Feel free to contact a member of the committee if you have a question or query about their particular area or use committee@nuts.org.au for general inquiries |
I present to you: The 2008 NUTS Committee
|
 |
Skye Kunstelj
President
skye@nuts.org.au
Skye is the President of NUTS. She is in charge of the day-to-day running of the society. So, if you see NUTS doing something you like, Skye did it. If you see NUTS doing something you don’t like, blame Jorge. If you have questions or comments about any aspects of NUTS, Skye is your man.
(Skye is a woman though).

Jorge Vafeas
Vice President
jorge@nuts.org.au
J is for Jorge Vafeas, the Vice-President of NUTS
O is for Organiser of NUTS Social Events; from venues to decorations, from food to music, I’m the host with most! Together with the First Year Reps, 2008 is going to be a year full of great events, with plenty of fun too boot!
R is for Ready to be best committee member ever! I’m committed to making 2008 a great year for NUTS, especially where social events are concerned!
G is for Going to Arc C.G.M.’s (Clubs General Meetings). By attending these meetings, I’ll be keeping NUTS on the UNSW map. Plus, be able to report back with info from the Arc about how to better involve and promote NUTS within the greater UNSW community
E is for Everyone! Above all else, I’m here to help you guys – the members. If you’ve got any questions about me (Ladies!); any questions about my role; or if you wanna offer to help out with anything; feel free to drop me a line at jorge@nuts.org.au.

Jess Bellamy
Secretary
jess@nuts.org.au
Jess is one of your first ports of call when you have a question about NUTS and you’re too scared to approach Skye.
Jess sends you emails. Jess receives the emails you might have sent to NUTS. Jess puts stuff on the website for you. Jess types minutes for you. Jess writes agendas for you. Jess co-moderates the forum for you. If you’re ever looking for Jess, she’s probably hunched over a computer somewhere, chewing on her knuckles for sustenance. For you.

Kim Dickson
Treasurer
kim@nuts.org.au
As Kim's title suggests, he's in charge of the treasure. He does the financial reports, writes the cheques, makes pretty excel spreadsheets, helps with everything monetary and is the holder of the NUTS treasure map. He keeps in contact with producers of shows to provide financial advice and the odd shoulder to cry on. He loves the reject shop and is thoroughly convinced that anything can be done and done cheaply. He's usually found procrastinating.

Tom Hogan
Technical Officer
tommeh@nuts.org.au
Some might think Tom is a bit of a handy man, but that only means those people haven't met him, and know absolutely nothing about him. He's more like a poodle, in that he often serves no purpose and has great hair. He also occasionally urinates around the house. His primary focus is to help out organising and understanding all the technical gidgidy doohickies that go on during shows, like the sound effects & music, lighting and access to the stock bits of wood used to build the sets. However, he will gladly delegate any of his real responsibilities over to you. He'll help with the design and opping of shows, and will hang around during bump-ins and bump-outs in case you accidentally blow something up. This also means he's on standby to replace any of your show's dead actors, but we really wouldn't recommend it. Ever. [Seriously.] Any resemblance or similarities between him and a real human being is purely coincidental. He offers best wishes, in the hopes that today is the best day for your entire life.

Caro Wallace
Costume and Props Manager
caro@nuts.org.au
Caro is mistress of the costume store - which is a room in the Webster Building crammed full of coats, dresses, overalls, top hats, belts, umbrellas, glasses, telephones, statues, plastic flowers, and a fantastic Chinese Dragon mask that we're desperate for someone to use in a show.
If you're putting on a play and you've decided that naked actors isn't the direction you're going in, call Caro and she will hook you up with some sensational costumes. The costume store is a free service for all NUTS members.

Shell Balogh
Publicity Officer
shell@nuts.org.au
Shell is the publicity officer for 2008, which means it's her job to make you look really, really good. She is the one to see with questions about promoting shows, promoting nuts, and just getting the word out on the street about student theatre. She's also the go to girl for all questions relating to the website, forums and other such publicityish topics.
If this picture isn't enough to go by, Shell will be the one out front of UNSW, gripping handfuls of flyers, wrapped in a poster, wearing a promo T-Shirt, standing in a sea of chalking, whilst simultaneously holding a bbq/cake stall/some sort of promotional festivity, bellowing at you to join nuts.

Evelyn Douek
First Year Representative
evelyn@nuts.org.au
Evelyn thinks her title should be changed to "helpful helper who is happy to help", and then at least we'd have an idea of what she actually does. But if you've gone down the list and you're too scared to talk to any of the above then approach Evelyn because she's as harmless as a blob-fish, maybe slightly more interesting and hopefully a little more attractive.

 |
Julia Knibbs
First Year Representative
julia@nuts.org.au
Knibbsy is one of the first-year reps for 2008. So basically, if you're a first year and you're too scared to ask other older (/scarier) people, you can ask her about stuff. She can't guarantee that she'll know things, but at least she can get info from the people who do, and pass that on to you. Also, if any of you newbies have some AMAZINGLY BRILLIANT FANTASTIC IDEA (and don't be shy, now), you can tell her, and she'll pass it off as her own to the rest of the NUTS council. (Just kidding. But do tell her.)
However, if you ask her for acting tips, she'll most likely tell you to get a real job. You'd probably have better luck with Evelyn, who actually acts. As a techie, Julia spends a lot of time in the dark, or under blue lights, which sometimes results in outbursts of crazy. But don't let that deter you. :)
