Peter Pan

| Studio One, UNSW
| 28th May - 31st May, 2014
| Written by J. M. Barrie
| Directed by
Darya 'Bobbi' Karbovska
| Produced by Remaliah King
About the play
Peter Pan tells the story of Wendy and her brothers John and Michael as they venture into the 'world' of Peter Pan. They encounter the lost boys, the infamous Captain Hook and even a crocodile.

The more you read Peter Pan, the clearer it becomes that the story is not strickly about children running off to a paradise land, having fun with a magical boy who can fly.

This world is much darker than anyone could have realised at first glance, and Peter Pan is not the innocent little boy who just wants to have fun forever. The character of Peter is in fact and amalgamation of Barrie's own brother who died young and a sad little boy who Barrie befriended, for whom the play is named.

Peter Pan is a deeply troubled boy (or in our production, grown man) trying to escape the harshness of reality, and does so by making everyone around him uphold this ruse; a world of escapism, of fantasy, where his trusty torch illuminates the illusive Tinker Bell.
